You all would be knowing aboutG and everything. Ijust want to inform that Aircel has become only the ssecond telecom operator to launch 4G services in India. The company will do this in associaton with Chinese 4G equipment supplier ZTE. Bharti Airtel, India's number one telco, was the first to launch ultra-high speed 4G services in India.
Zte will provide everything, from pland, design, supply to deploying the entire long ter evolution (LTE) ecosystem, for making this project a success.
“In the initial phase of our rollout, we aim to offer our customers some of the highest data speeds in the country – in excess of 65 Mbps,” said Xu Dejun, chief executive officer of ZTE India.
The first state of the project will start with services being provided in Chennai, then Tamilnadu and then it's other circles. The first stage is Chennai as it is the most profiatble circle. The names of the other circles have not been disclosed but as per latest numbers, the other highly profitable circles in today's time are Assam, North East and Jammu& Kashmir.( Source: dnaindia )
Aircel holds broadband wireless access (BWA/4G) spectrum in eight circles, which it bid for and won in 2010, – the second-largest number of BWA circles, after Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL). They spent around Rs. 4500 Crores for getting the eight circles
If Aircel, which beat RJIL in unveiling 4G services, also launches in Assam and North East, it may compete with RJIL, which is also expected to launch the services by March 2014, starting with the North East.
Also its partner ZTE – which has won 60 LTE contracts worldwide – has surpassed peers Samsung and Huawei in India by bagging supply and network deals from Airtel, Aircel and RJIL.( Source: dnaindia)
India's LTE ecosystem is still developing as affordable handsets supporting the technology are not available.
At present, customers can access 4G services on laptops or personal computers via a dongle. India's 4G market could see a shake up when Reliance Jio Infocomm, the sole company to have pan-India 4G airwaves, enters with its set of services that may also work on mobile phones. The Mukesh Ambani-owned company has been historically known to disrupt the market by offering services at lower costs but, despite running multiple tests at different locations, it has not launched its services till date.(Source: economictimes)
