HMD Global's Flagship Android Phone Nokia P1, Rumored to be announced at MWC 2017...

After the recent success of it's first android smartphone Nokia 6, it seems that HMD Global is now planning to show it's cards at the next MWC 2017(Mobile World Congress), which is to be held in Barcelona, Spain late in coming February.

The recent flash sale of Nokia 6, the first under the Nokia brand name, was a huge success with over 1 million registrations for the phone. It was exclusively available in China and was made available through online retailer JD.com. This success has surely calmed the nerves that HMD Global wold have had before the sale.

Here is a quick look at Nokia 6:-

And now as the Biggest Gathering for the mobile industry is just around the corner, they will surely be looking to drop a bomb on the mobile industry as was indicated by their Facebook post on Nokia'a page. And what better way to stir the pot than to announce the launch of a new flagship smartphone, that is rumored to be Nokia P1. The android smartphone is imagined to be a high end phone, sporting a Snapdragon 835 processor.

As the Russian publication Worket has stated, The Nokia P1 is very much similar to Sharp Aquos Xx3 (a smartphone released about half a year ago in Japan). However, the new handset should come with something much more, including 6 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of internal memory. Moreover, its 22.6 MP rear camera is expected to be Zeiss-certified, while the phone's body should be dust- and water-resistant (IP57-certified).

Other expected mail features are 5.3-inch display with Gorilla Glass Glass 5 (unknown pixel resolution, but it's likely either 1080 x 1920, or 1440 x 2560), fingerprint scanner on the right side, and a 3500 mAh battery with quick charging capabilities. With these specs Nokia P1 will surely compete with the likes of Galaxy S8, HTC 11 and Xiaomi Mi 6, all of which are said to house the next-gen SoC.

Now all these amazing features surely come at a price which will be no less than $800 ( ₹54,500 Approx.) for the 128GB model and around $950 (₹64,700 Approx.) for the 256GB variant. The company has also tipped about releasing as many as 7 flagship android smartphones this year. But if the current phone P1 is any indication, HMD Global will have a hard time achieving high sales for it's products in the market against the likes of Apple and Samsung which will also debut their flagship phones set at the same price range.
