The festive season is just around the corner and companies in every field are trying to make the most of it. So is the motorsport giant Toyota. The Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto maker, has launched the limited edition version, of it's sports utility vehicle Fortuner SUV, known as TRD Sportivo on 21st of October. The TRD Sportivo has been announced at a price of Rs. 24.26 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Earlier this month, Toyota also launched the facelift version
of Innova Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). So, we can confer that by launching multiple models of it's vehicles, Toyota is trying to gain maximum profit from this festive season. This version of Fortuner has been designed by Toyota Racing Development(TRD) and is available in the 4x4 MT variant of the Fortuner, the company said in a statement.
Reports have verified that this limited edition of Fortuner will be available for purchase till December,2013 and only 400 units have been made to be sold. Some of the highlighted features are : the engine is 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel mill that produces 169bhp and 343Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a five-speed manual and a four-wheel drive system.
At the launch, Sandeep Singh, DMD & COO Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, "Fortuner SUV has been the leader in it's segment since it's launch. More than 54,000 units have been sold till now and the vehicle was launched in 2009. With an aim to provide newness, we have introduced the Fortuner Limited edition for the festive season. The limited edition with its sporty image will provide exclusivity to our customers.”
