Paytm Now Available On Windows Phone And Nokia Asha Platform

Paytm, one of India's best prepaid recharge and payment services for mobile, DTH, 3G Data and utility, has launched it's app for Windows and Nokia Asha platforms.

This new app has similar interface as iOS counterpart. Home panel has mobile, DTH and data card recharge options. Other features like coupons are also included in this app.

This launch can be taken as a new way that Paytm has opted for to increase or get a bigger share of the recharge and bill payments market in India. Paytm has over 6 million subscribers over Web, SMS, IVR and mobile apps.

Yahoo Drags AltaVista, The Search Engine Relic, To Nothing

AltaVista, which was conceived in 1995, was created by researchers at Digital Equipment Corporation's Network Systems Laboratory and Western Research Laboratory who were just trying to make the public network more comfortable by providing services to find files easily. It was publicly launched as an internet search engine on December 15, 1995 at altavista.digital.com, three years before the launch of the legendary search engine Google. At launch, this service had two main advantages over other search engines available at the time,which were: it used a fast, multi-threaded crawler (Scooter) that could cover many webpages, approx 20 million, that were believed to exist at the time, and it had an efficient search-running back-end on advanced hardware. AltaVista search engine was an immediate success. Traffic increased steadily from 300,000 hits on the first day to more than 80 million hits per day two years later.


In 1996, AltaVista became the exclusive provider of search results for Yahoo!.

Intel's history has not seen many CEO's, but all the 5 CEOs were a positive aspect for the company. And now their is the new CEO on the scene i.e. Brian Krzanich. Krzanich has spent much of his career at Intel, joining the company back in 1982 as a process engineer. He moved up the ranks of Intel's manufacturing divisions, before being appointed COO in January 2012. And now has become the sixth CEO of Intel Corp.

According to IDC’s latest ranking of smartphone operating systems, the market share of Android smartphones increased to 75 percent in 1st quarter of 2013 from 59.1 percent in the same period of 2012. In contrast, iOS market share went down from 23 percent to 17.3 percent in the same period. "Apple Inc. ruled the hearts of millions by creating the smartphone craze since 2007, but the feel and look of iPhones has remained almost similar to its original version", says Darcy Travlos of Forbes.

NOKIA LAUNCHES ASHA 501 SMARTPHONE AT JUST $99

 
 

Nokia Corp., struggling to regain ground in the competitive smartphone market, unveiled a $99 touchscreen smartphone to help drive sales and boost its falling market share. This phone will be powered by a refreshed Asha operating system (OS) featuring software capabilities from Smarterphone. The Asha 501 is the first of a new family of smartphones which Nokia says “pushes the boundaries of affordable smartphone design with bold colour, a high-quality build and an innovative user interface”.

Nokia, once the world's largest phone maker, has struggled to compete in the high-end smartphone market dominated by Apple Inc. and South Korean rival Samsung Electronics Co. Adding to its misery is stiff competition from Chinese manufacturers as well as other low-cost Indian phone makers such as Micromax Informatics Ltd. In India, Micromax sells a smartphone for as little as $65, while Samsung sells devices below $110. Up until last year, Nokia had a dominant market share in India, but is seeing increasing threat from Samsung.

While it will be the only third-part browser on all Android devices made by Celkon, Karbonn, Lava, and Intex, the browser will be offered on select devices made by Zen and Fly and on HCL's ME tablets. They have missed out some popular names like Micromax, Samsung etc, in their tie up.

HTC ONE'S SOURCE CODE NOW RELEASED IN THE PUBLIC

As we all know that HTC One was announced just a few weeks back & now it's Source Code is going to released in public by HTC. However, It is seemingly surprising that the source code is being released only for Vodafone UK and Vodafone France versions of the new device. But of course, this situation will soon change in the future.

The new source code will be very useful, as it will make the job of the developers a little easy in creating custom ROMs for the phone. It is not necessary to have a source code to create a ROM for that device & there would have been almost no problem if HTC wouldn't have announced the release of the source code. Although, the source code of a device solidifies the fact that the ROM will be fully compatible with the device & will work seamlessly. You all would have seen many ROMs with caveats (warning) & the ROM will not function well with the device. The source code vanishes all these possibilities.

MICROSOFT - NOW DEVELOPING A SEVEN INCH SURFACE TABLET

Microsoft Incorporation is now trying to develop a new lineup of Surface Tablets, including a big innovation & a competitor to the iPad Mini and Kindle Fire in form of a 7-inch version, which is expected to move to mass production later this year, Wall Street Journal Reports.

One the inner people revealed that "7-inch tablets weren’t part of the company’s strategy last year, but Microsoft executives realized they needed a response to the rapidly growing popularity of smaller tablets like Google Inc.’s 7-inch Nexus, which was announced last summer, and the 7.9-inch iPad Mini introduced by Apple Inc. last October.”

AN IPAD MINI RIVAL, THE SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8.0 HITS THE STORES ON THURSDAY

The competition between the two Gigantic Mobile Production Empires APPLE & SAMSUNG, that they are called, has been going on from a long time is still in progress every single second. Courtesy of this competition, Samsung is launching the new Galaxy Note 8.0 in response of the Apple Mini iPad, on this thursday  in the U.S. stores.

The South Korean Electronics Giant said that the small tablet will only be available in a Wi-Fi version and sell for $400. The model comes with 16 gigabytes of storage.

Basically the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is an 8-inch, 1,280 by 800 pixel resolution screen which was announced in February. The screen has a 189 pixel density. The tablet comes with Android 4.1.2 - Jelly Bean & uses a 1.6 Ghz A9 quad-core processor.

This Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with a 5 MP rear camera & 1.3 front camera. Galaxy Note also comes with a Samsung S-stylus same as all the other Samsung Smartphones. The phone also has a micro SD memory card slot so the user can enhance the memory of the phone.

The new tablet will be available from retailers including Amazon, Staples and Best Buy. This phone is also the second biggest product of Samsung after Samsung Galaxy S4.

So for proving something comparable to it's piers, this phone has to come with a big bam & will have to storm the world very quickly.  

MICROMAX NINJA A91 IS UNVEILED ONLINE

Micromax, the indigenous phonemaker promised to launch 30 new phones this year and looks like they will live up to that promise. And the latest to join the slew is Micromax Ninja A91 which debuted on an e-commerce portal.


Micromax Ninja A91 is based on Google’s open-source Android platform. As the tradition in Micormax says, this phone also come with Android ICS or Ice Cream Sandwich and not the latest Android version, Android Jelly Bean.The screen is 4.5-inch TFT display.

Microsoft has given an advanced notifications on the release of 9 different Security Bulletins that will be released on 9th of April. It has listed all the latest security bulletins in a table on Microsoft's official site.

From the 9 security bulletins, Microsoft has rated the vulnerability of 2 of them as critical & the other 7 important. The first 2 bulletins which have been rated vulnerable, pertain to remote code execution issues.

Videocon Mobile Phones, part of the USD 5 bn Videocon Group, today launched its latest 2G voice calling enabled Tablet -- VIDEOCON VT75C.

Priced at Rs 6,499, the tablet offers a seven inch high resolution screen, multi-task enabled 1GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, Android 4.1 'Jelly Bean' operating system and a 2G voice calling facility with a SIM slot, the company said in a statement.

Equipped with a 2MP rear and a VGA front camera, the tablet offers consumers the amalgamation of a smartphone and tablet experience, it said.
