iPhone And iPad Users Beware, Something is Keeping An Eye On You From Above........

Wanna know what is looking down at you from far into the space, use the SpyMeSat app developed by Orbit Logic in Greenbelt, Maryland. With his app you can get notifications when spy satellites or unclassified imaging satellites are zooming above their heads and taking pictures.

The app is for iPhone and iPad only. The app shows a dynamic map indicating orbit tracks and the location of remote sensing satellites and when any satellite
will go through the position of the user.

The app does not include each and every satellite which revolves around earth. The list of satellites which this app can track contains such zoom-lens notables as GeoEye, the French space agency's SPOT-5, India's CartoSat-2A, DigitalGlobe's WorldView satellites and Canada's RADARSAT-2. These all are low-orbit satellites which revolve around Earth at a radius of 805 km ( Space.com ).

"I actually got the idea for the app from talking to friends outside the aerospace industry who were always very interested in space and satellites and imaging from space. This app answers those questions in a fun and interactive way," said Alex Herz, president of Orbit Logic in Greenbelt, Maryland which developed the app.

The SpyMeSat app uses multiple sources like orbit data from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). It has also been heard that the app is specially designed for people who are not in aerospace, defense and intelligence communities.
